Spook spotting at Pinner Police Station
Visitors are invited to go on a ghost hunt at Pinner Police Station open day.
Vintage police cars, officers dressed in authentic 1940s police uniforms and the identity of the station's ghost will all be on Saturday (06) September between 11am-4pm.
Inspector Dave Burgum who is based at the Victorian Station said: "Admission is free and the day will have something for everyone. - young and old alike.
"Pinner Police Station is widely recognised as one of the most attractive anywhere in London. It continues to be a working police station as well as a landmark and focal point for the community we serve.
"This is a rare opportunity for people to come along and be given a guided tour of the station by a police historian and gain an insight into the rich history of this station.
"This is also an opportunity for you to get valuable crime prevention and to meet your Safer Neighbourhoods teams and to find out about careers in the Met".
Open Day highlights include:
- A selection of vintage police cars
- Visit the old cell block and learn about the famous ghost of Pinner police station
- Meet a police officer in genuine wartime uniform with 1940s police equipment
- Talk to a police historian about the history of the station and policing in the area
- An exhibition on the history of policing in Pinner and across London
- Free property marking for valuable property items
- Speak to local businesses specialising in crime prevention and security
- Get your mobile phone recorded on the MEND database which prevents phone-related crime
- Free information, booklets and pamphlets on crime prevention measures such as home security, internet and mobile phone crime
- Find out how to join the Metropolitan Police Service as a Police Constable or a PCSO and also how to join the Metropolitan Special Constabulary and Police Cadets
- Meet the Pinner and Pinner South Safer Neighbourhood Team Sergeants, PCs and PCSOs
- Meet the Harrow Borough Police Cadets
