Hatch End supermarket collection raises £3,000 for Haiti

GENEROUS customers at a Hatch End supermarket contributed almost £3,000 towards providing vital aid kits to quake-hit Haiti.
The collection at Morrisons in Uxbridge Road was hastily organised for last weekend by the Rotary Club of Northwick Park.
All the cash will be used to purchase and send Rotary shelter boxes to the victims of the natural disaster in the underdeveloped Caribbean country where an estimated 200,000 people may have perished.
The boxes contain a large tent, tools and survival equipment for a family of about 10 people and should provide accommodation for a year.
Rotarian Jo Mediratta said: "It was an emotional experience to see £20, £10 and £5 notes being put into the collecting buckets.
"Thank you. Your money will make a difference."

We'd like to hear from you.
