Victory Pub web.jpgTHE Victory Pub in Pinner High Street will be losing its historic name when it reopens as an Italian restaurant in September, the Observer can reveal.

The historic pub, thought to date back to Tudor times, has kept The Victory name for over 150 years and residents were keen for it to retain the traditional title.

James Whybrow web.jpgTHE parents of an 18-year-old car crash victim from Pinner have joined a campaign for traffic calming measures on the road where he was killed.

Former Haydon School pupil James Whybrow died on May 29 when the car he was a passenger in was involved in a head-on collision in Cuckoo Hill, which turns off High Road, Eastcote, and runs into Pinner.

Mr Hurd, 48, who is also minister for civil society, will wed Lady Clare Kerr, 31, daughter of Conservative MP Michael Ancram. She is currently training to be a child psychotherapist.
