Dog web.jpgA PINNER dog owner has been ordered to 'keep control' of his animals or face criminal action after dozens of complaints were received.

The dog control order was imposed on Bharat Lukha, of Buckland Rise, after local residents complained that their lives had been 'made a misery' by his dogs being out of control.

Village Surgery web.jpgAN investigation by Harrow Council has found that NHS Harrow 'failed to follow its constitution' in handling the closure of a Pinner GP surgery.

The primary care trust (PCT) is also accused of withholding information in its explanation of why The Village Surgery was closed down with two days' notice.

Parking web.jpgPINNER has been singled out for higher parking charges because 'residents can afford to pay more', according to a local councillor.

At a public meeting of the Pinner Association last week, several councillors spoke out about the 'unfair' parking rates in comparison to neighbouring areas that are cheaper or even free.

Pinner Parish Pre-School web.jpgWHILE the government has announced its plans to slash spending by £81billion, the impact of the cuts are already being felt locally.

DNK web.jpgFormer Pinner schoolgirl Katie Waissel bounced back from a difficult first week on the X Factor to sail through on Sunday (17).

After finishing in the bottom two and needing a judges' vote to survive, Katie had no such problems in her second outing with a stripped-down rendition of Etta James' I Would Rather Go Blind, that was highly praised.

Martin Verden.JPGTHE Pinner Association has chosen a new president, five months after the death of David Rowlands.

Martin Verden will now take on the position, representing the association at events and social functions.

The former Merchant Taylor's School pupil is already chairman of the Harrow Heritage Trust, president of Pinner Local History Society and chairman of the West House and Heath Robinson Memorial Trust.

Bridge Street web.jpgPLANS for a four-storey residential tower block in the centre of Pinner have been approved by Harrow Council for the first time.

The application to build 30 one and two-bed apartments was refused by the council three years ago but was allowed on appeal by the planning inspectorate in February 2008.

Joshua Downing web.jpgA 21-YEAR-OLD man from Hatch End will serve at least six years in prison for an axe and hammer attack on Boxing Day last year.

Joshua Downing, of Secker Crescent, denied four charges of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm (GBH) but was found guilty by a jury at Isleworth Crown Court.

One of the four charges relate to an assault in Sharp's Lane, Ruislip, on December 19, 2009, and the other three to an attack in Long Drive, South Ruislip, a week later on Boxing Day.

Mill Farm Close web.jpgBUILDING work has begun on a £23million housing project in Pinner.

The Mill Farm Close housing estate will be completely rebuilt over a five-year period and some of the long-standing tenants were on hand this week to help 'turn the sod'.

Harrow Council transferred the site to Catalyst Communities Housing Association (CCHA) and Higgins Construction in April after tenants gave their approval to the scheme.

Budgie web.jpgHARROW Council has been accused of keeping live birds in a 'concentration camp' after four budgies were found dead at a Pinner aviary.

An RSPCA inspector is now investigating the welfare of the budgies kept by the council at Pinner Memorial Park.
