Artwork admired by parents at Pinner's Grimsdyke School

PARENTS and visitors admired artwork produced by pupils at a Pinner school.
Last week Grimsdyke School in Sylvia Avenue dedicated its art lessons to the theme of flowers and the result of the children's efforts were put on display proudly on Monday.

Deputy headteacher Ravinder Pearn said: "The children absolutely loved it. Every child was given an opportunity to be creative as possible in designing a flower.
"We had certain year groups focus on different styles - Aboriginal art, pop art and weaving, for instance - and we did cross-curricular links with English lessons, where the children wrote poetry on flowers, and history, where they learned about old artists.
"The whole hall was absolutely spectacular and every class corridor was covered with lots of beautiful work the children had made."
The Mayor of Harrow, Councillor Mrinal Choudhury, was the guest of honour and was led impressively on a tour by two of the school's prefects.
