A SCIENTIST from Pinner who lost his wife and sister to cancer and is himself a sufferer is now starring in a national TV ad campaign for Cancer Research UK

Dr Tony Selman, 70, of Uxbridge Road, a biophysicist who was at one time technical director at Guys Hospital, is featured with his daughter Louise in the new campaign, which shows real people discussing how they have coped with cancer in their families.

Harrow Association of Disabled People and Harrow Mencap met with the mayor this morning to discuss plans for the coming year and ways to involve more people in volunteering.

Manager Matt Sims confirmed that the opening would be on September 22 this year and the business was very excited about the new venture: "It's a terrific place and the quality of the productions they produce is great. We are very grateful for the opportunity."

Paramedics called to Headstone Drive took the victim to a north London hospital.
Officers are making enquiries and no-one has been arrested so far.

The club is reported to be closing its doors to over 1000 members who can play snooker, poker and darts on the premises after a termination of the lease by the leaseholder.

Jack Guinchard, 18, of Cuckoo Hill Drive, Pinner,was at the wheel of a Ford Fiesta in Cuckoo Hill last year when he lost control and was in a head-on collision that killed passenger James Whybrow (pictured), from Pinner Green.
